People sometimes expect a chart reading to be a list of predictions. In practice, it is closer to an act of attention. When I sit with someone's chart, I am really being handed a map of their longings, their wounds, the shape of their particular courage.

Held that way, the work becomes an ethic before it is a technique. The chart is not a verdict to hand down but a sacred biography to read slowly and with respect. My job is not to tell someone who they are — they already know — but to help them recognize it.

That is what I mean by falling in love. Not romance, but the ordinary miracle of really seeing another person. After all these years, that is still the part that moves me most.
